Everybody hates me by J-Carter is amazing!!!!!

 J-Carter releases "Everybody hates me" & he didn't disappoint at all.  This project showcases his versatility, lyricism, & greatness.  

One of the first songs to catch my attention was the soulful track "I'm so sorry".  The amazing hook, the vulnerable lyrics mesh so well together.  Also the lyrics sound personal, relevant, & authentic & that's always a plus when listening to an artist for me.  

"Ain't about that" showcases J-Carter versatility to the highest level.  While switching up the vibe, the lyrics are still up to par, refreshing & it feels good.  This one here gives me afrobeats type vibes.  Usually when I hear an album, a few songs will stand out after the first few listens but on this project it's hard for a song to stick out because everything sounds spectacular...plus the different vibes of the music will have you having a favorite song off of the project every few days.  

"Thinking of you" is a special track in my opinion...the song...the way J-Carter flipped the song is amazing.  This is one of the ones that you will have on repeat for sure.  I can honestly say that all the verses on this project sounds like they are coming from an honest place & that's a bonus.  Speaking of samples, that "Level Up"...whewww!! This track is real gritty, aggressive, & it's that real rap that I have always loved.  

"Against the grain" is another one of those songs that is filled with soul & almost anyone will feel this.  The way J-Carter flips back & forth from different subjects, different bpms, & different vibes are simply amazing.  "Thats whats up" gives me west coast vibes & it's real catchy.  I can say that J-Carter really delivered on this project & I expect to see big things in the future from J-Carter.  Real lyrics, real topics, great production, & good vibes. 

"Stay" by T Gesh is so realistic & authentic

 Sometimes an artist can release a song & the words will touch your soul.  T Gesh releases "Stay" & it's one of those songs that feel so relatable & authentic.  The rawness of the song, the accuracy of the songwriting...this song is perfect.  This song is vulnerable & it is what is needed in R&B music at all times.  This type of music is needed in all genres of music.  A song that everyone can relate to no matter the age for the most part, no matter the race, & no matter where you are located.  The production meshes well with lyrics.  Sometimes a beat can be over powering but in this situation, everything is immaculate.  It's one of those songs that you have to start over & over again.  This song alone made me a fan of T Gesh and now I have to check out the rest of his catalog.  Do yourself a favor and check out "Stay" by T Gesh, he did not disappoint at all & i'm blessed to run across this song.  

Britiska Soul releases a brand new collection of songs

 Britiska Soul releases a brand new collection of songs & these songs are amazing.  Her song "Love is Dope" made the popular Apple Music Playlist "R&B Euphoria" which features the hottest, latest, and greatest R&B songs.  B Soul touches on a lot of different topics on these songs.  The "Love is dope" is probably my favorite but I also love the "Life what's you make it" record featuring Jawja Boi Roy aka JB Tho.  The collaboration between the two artists meshed well together & I wouldn't mind hearing more from them together in the future.  Another record where Britiska Soul showcases her amazing songwriting ability is the song "I got up".  This song will touch a lot of people souls & uplift some spirits.  You really get a r&b influence, gospel influence, soulful vibe on this project.  There is really no bad song out of all these songs that B Soul has released so I highly recommend that everyone check her out.  The music is available on Apple Music, Spotify, & all digital media outlets.  

Rockstar Major is on the way up with his "Say My Name" project.

      From opening up for major artists such as Chris Brown & Boosie at Bliss Night Club in Washington DC, performing in Miami, On The Block From Miami, Rolling Loud addition, & meeting with companies about distribution deals, Rockstar Major is somebody you should be paying attention to.  His most recent project "Say my name" was just released & this is enough evidence for you to see he is the next big thing.  7 songs of variety, 7 songs of depth, & 7 songs into the life of Rockstar Major.  The melodic "Ball till I fall" is the first song on the project & it has one of those contagious vibes about it.  You know how you can hear a song & you just have to start it over before it finishes.  "Cross Me" is another standout track on the Say My Name project that people will feel.  He touches on something that most of us have probably been through.  Anytime an artist has some relatable lyrics, it's always refreshing to hear.  "Sky's the limit" gives me that motivational feel & it's another one of those songs that you can play over & over.  Addictive beat and the hook is infectious.  I can also hear this one in the club going crazy, hopefully the DJ's will get behind this record.  DJ's & Program directors.  I love the aggressiveness of "Re Up".  This might just be the hustler's anthem right here.  Anyone who is out here hustling legal or illegally can take a liking to this record.  "Can't spend no money today, I gotta re-up"...it's something about the energy on this track that makes it stand out.  The production & the verses mesh well together.  This hook will be stuck in my head for the rest of the week at least.  "Say My Name" really caught me off guard...it has a different feel from the rest of the album but it's the perfect way to end the project.  It really shows the versatility of the project.  I love when someone flips a song but adds a lot of their own flavor to a song to enhance it & that's what happened on this one.  Rockstar Major will be around for awhile & at this point the only thing that can stop him is him.  

It's About Time, Los Musick & Louisiana Pat is here!!!!

 UGK, Big K.R.I.T., 8Ball & MJG, Slim Thug, & Z-Ro!!! If you're a fan of any of these artists then this Los Musick & Louisiana Pat project "About Time" will satisfy your soul.  This album is soul food indeed.  It's literally good for the soul...I don't know if it's the beats, the lyrics, the topics, the rhyme schemes, the production, or the vocal ability.  It's rare these days that I run across albums that it feels like every song is almost as good or better than the song before it.  This album also has lots of replay value.  The first song I heard was "Too much fire" & that song along had me wanting to hear more.  I instantly added it to my Apple Music playlist & my spotify playlist.  I usually like to pick a favorite song when i'm reviewing an album but it's impossible to pick a favorite.  The album pops off with "Catch Ya Breath" & that alone makes you want to put it on repeat.  This album is southern royalty & oh yeah "Don't play with my money & don't play with my patience".  Once you play this project you will understand!! If you're a fan of just quality rap this is the album.  I don't care if you're from the West Coast, East Coast, Midwest, the south or another country...this is the album.  The track titled "The Music" is so smooth.  I feel like I am supposed to let my seat back and cruise through my old neighborhood.  This is 8 solid songs of wonderful music & the album ends up with "Melanin Child" & this song is powerful man.  From the opening lyrics all the way to the end, this song is special & needed.  I wish this type of music was played on the radio at least a few times a day.  I hope it's a music video for this song for sure because this song is touching & it's needed.  The world needs to hear it.  The world needs to hear this entire project.   One of my favorites of the year so far indeed.  

October Rust brings Black Rain

 October Rust releases the album "Black Rain".  The band consists of Christoffer Tholsson who is behind the guitars, bass & backing vocals).  Henrik Svensson handles the lead vocals & the keys.  The album is 8 songs full of great music.  The album opens up with "Backlash" & the song instantly sounds fresh, the instrumentation is eclectic, & instantaneously had me ready to hear the rest of the project. "Speaks to me" is one of my favorites on the project & title of the song couldn't be more fitting.  The amazing guitar play feels good to my soul on this one.  The vocal arrangement meshes well with track.  The overall production of this entire project is amazing & I can appreciate that.  It's also something that "I Forgive" record that made me play it back 3 times in a row.  That bass, the lyrics, the vocal ability is immaculate on this record.  This is a beautifully written song & the hook is contagious.  "I'll take you higher, i'll lend you wings" This song alone deserves an award at the highest level.  "Wash me away" is also another great song that rounds out the album.  All & all, October Rust created a masterpiece that will be enjoyed for years.

Jawja Boi Roy - Skybox (Music Video)

Passive is really, really rapping on "The Lost Demo"

 The hard hitting  "Identity intro" caught my attention from the beginning.  The switch up of
the flows, the  beat, the overall feel of this song along had me excited to hear more.  Passive releases "The Lost Demo" & it is 14 songs of greatness.  14 songs of great production, great lyrics, and amazing talent.  On "Sheesh" Passive raps "Pride got a funny way of showing it's face" & this song gives me a classic east coast feel with some top tier rapping.  G Monsta makes an appearance on "Same Ol Same" & it's one of the standout tracks on the project.  "Like it is" has that gritty feel & the beat is contagious.  I also love the beat switches in some of the songs which keeps each song interesting & it keeps you on your toes.  "Pretty like the moon" is one of the ones that I had to keep on repeat.  The vibe on this song is very different from everything on the project.  If you really appreciate some great rapping, story telling, lyricism & excellent song making then this is the project for you.  "Broke" is one of them ones as well.  I'm amazed at the wordplay & the overall feel of this song.  "I don't wanna be broke forever, tell me where to find the treasure". "One Day Vacay" is something special.  The flow on this one gets me going & the beat has that bop to it that I like.  "The world isn't perfect, this place is a mess".  The lyrics in this song touches my soul, I need to take me a one day vacay real soon & let this song play on repeat out loud while i'm relaxing.  "Something in the water, got me wanting something more"...it's some lines in this song that really had me reflecting & had me wanting more.  Passive shows his versatility on "I pray" & it fits perfectly on this album.  Passive released 14 songs of wonderful music that the world needs to hear.  Do yourself a service & enjoy this masterpiece.  

Yellow Eyes by Julience is a hit!

 Julience releases the hit song "Yellow Eyes," & it's truly something special. From the time you hear the guitar all the way to the end of the song, you become addicted to the sound. It seems the logical sequel to "Love Lies Cold," were guitars were prominent as well. This song also has a classic rock, synonymous with the artist.

This is one of these songs I can hear on movie soundtracks, at a bar, party, or some feel-good music to play at home. "Yellow eyes" is definitely repeat worthy & I believe the world will love it. 

LaRussell & this is "20 Shots" is powerful!!!!

 It's rare these days that a song can give me chills and have goosebumps all over me.  This song did it!! This song is authentic and so honest.  The words, the content, the message, the everything!!! I literally had tears in my eyes as I watched this video.  You can actually hear the pain in LaRussell's voice as he raps.  You can tell everything that he is saying is coming from a deep place & it puts his soul on this track.  This song made me FEEL, this song made me THINK, this song made me REFLECT, this song is POWERFUL.  The world needs to hear this.  20 Shots by LaRussell is something special.

Therapy Tapes by Old Man Brandon is a must listen

 Old Man Brandon releases "Therapy Tapes" and the first song "Therapy" touches my soul instantly.  A subject that is not discussed as much as it should be these days is actually really dope to hear on a song.  A person realizing they need help & reaching out for help to make improvements and to better their life is amazing.  This song alone is super powerful & the world needs to hear it.  "Super Manic" follows up Therapy and this is another introspective song that I love.  I can honestly say this album is good for your soul & it's good for your mind. To hear Old Man Brandon speaking about mental illness & going through life struggles is a breath of fresh air because I know a lot of people will be able to relate to this.  "Nightmares" is another one that is deep & it's like a guilty pleasure because the beat is so perfect on this song.   I can honestly say pay attention to all of the words that are being spoke on all these songs & this album is deep.  "I'm having nightmares about my job", anybody who ever felt like this & or been at a job they hate will love this one.  This album is spiritual & real.  The lyrics on "Pull Me Through" are so real, so accurate, so honest, & brave.  I wish more rappers would be this brave on their songs.  "I got faith he will pull me through all this".  It's lines/hooks like that on this project that makes me restart a song & play it again from the top.  The song "Forever" has a melodic feel & it's a different vibe from everything else on the project but it fits in perfectly.  Krizz Kaliko makes an appearance on "Disappear" & this is another brutally honest song that I can appreciate it.  A song about not wanting to live, not wanting to die, but just wanting to disappear for a little bit.  "Inside it kills" is another one that I love, Old Man Brandon is speaking on how things change, people change, & getting cheated on.  A vulnerable song that is written amazingly & the title alone is amazing.  The album speaks on "Fairweather Fans" & of course he speaking on how people change & how people treat you when you don't do what they want.  Fairweather Fans vs. Real Fans, it's always good for an artist to know the difference.  Listen to this song & you'll know what type of fan someone is.  Old Man Brandon "Therapy Tapes" is a must listen.  

Karma Town blesses us with Please Stop

 

"Please stop" by Karma town is something unique and special. I absolutely love the instrumentation & the thought provoking lyrics. I also love that the lyrics are relatable on a grand scale to me and that makes me want to play this song over & over. Sometimes a beat & lyrics mesh together perfectly and something like this is created. This is certainly one of those songs that you may want to put on repeat and listen over & over. I can go to this song 10 years from now & it still will sound good. It may just resonate with me even more in the future. As far now...I'm calling it early, "Please Stop" by Karma Town is a classic. Lyrics with meaning, lyrics with substance, lyrics that can take my mind places will always win me over. Karma Town, great job!

Gaviana releases some great R&B with "Vivid Dreams"

 R&B Artist Gaviana releases her album "Vivid Dreams". She is in A-train artist. Gaviana voice music gives me a feel good feeling, euphoric, timeless, & takes me back to the day when every singer had to really know how to sing to be in the music business.  I love the production on "Let Go" & it's one of my favorites on the project.  I love the bop it has to it & the clean production.  "Come Closer" is a slow tempo, smooth track that showcases her vocal ability.  "Lost Gone" gives me those vibes that I used to get when my mother used to play music in the car & she used to sing her heart out.  It's something about all of these songs on "Vivid Dreams" that take me to a certain place.  Whether they take me back to my childhood, my current or past situations, or just a recent time in life.  "Stories Untold" gives me early 90s vibes & that's not a bad thing at all.  Anyone who can capture those early 90s vibes is always a plus for me.  I love the "Free" record as well which is a remake of a classic.  Gaviana added her twist to it and it's perfect.  The music video for it is pretty dope as well.  "Birds in the park" is one of the ones on the album that hits differently as well.  It sounds pretty different from everything else on the project.  It shows her versatility and her openness to be diverse & it works out.  Gaviana does a great job on this  "Vivid Dreams".
